On April 7th, 1948, WHO was created as a merger of the League of Nations Health Organization and the International Office of Public Hygiene. The agency's first major action started in 1950 with a Mass Tuberculosis Vaccination Campaign. The WHO is also responsible for eradicating smallpox, along with treating Polio, TB & Malaria along with currently helping to contain AIDS/HIV. The WHO currently is working on slowing the spread of Mpox & Covid along with debating issues such as universal healthcare, tracking communicable diseases & working on fighting obesity, addiction, childbirth related mortalities & sexual/reproductive health.
